Emergency
If you are dealing with an emergency and in need of immediate assistance, please contact the Emory Police Department at 404-727-6111 or the local police by dialing 911.
For mental health concerns please call Emory Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at 404-727-7450
Case Management Services
SCMIS provides short-term case management services to students who are looking for support navigating barriers they may face during their time at Emory.
Student Intervention Services
The campus community can reach a Campus Life Professional On-Call, available 24/7, by calling the Emory Police Department (EPD) dispatch at 404-727-6111.
Recognize. Relate. Refer.
Recognize: A faculty, staff member, or friend is often the first person to recognize a student in distress and then reach out. These noticeable signs of distress can include, but are not limited to, academic issues, interpersonal problems, and behavioral concerns.
Relate: We encourage you to speak directly to students when you sense they are in academic or personal distress. Openly acknowledge that you are aware of their distress, that you are sincerely concerned about their welfare, and you are willing to help them explore their options. Not all students will be receptive to your help.
Refer: Always share your concern about a student with SCMIS, you never know if the information you share is part of a bigger picture. You can complete the Student of Concern form or email scmis@emory.edu. All referrals are kept private to the fullest extent possible by law and consistent with university policy.
